During the Achaemenid era, the Hellenic military forces were a significant part of the Achaemenid army, and what was called Greece was considered a satrapy of the Achaemenid union.
Alexander's rebellion against the Achaemenid system reminds one of the Ghaznavids' dominance over the Samanids, how the Ghaznavids gained influence in the Samanid military system, and even though they were considered mercenaries of the Samanids, they eventually pushed the Samanids aside.
Similarity between Hellenes and Turkish Ghaznavids
The Hellenes had more or less the same relationship with the Achaemenids, with the difference that the Ghaznavids were considered to be of what had been called as Turkish descent, but the Hellenes were also Aryans.
The Hellenes were not aliens to the Parthians, just as they were not to the Achaemenians, and as Aryans living in another part of Iranic union at that time, they were considered fellow countrymen. However, the Parthians were from the northeast of this region, the Sasanians were from the southwest of Iran, and the Hellenes were from the northwest of this region.
Alienation of Hellenes from the East
With the establishment of the Roman government and the rise of competition between the Parthians and the Romans, and then the further intensification of this competition in the Sassanid era, and also according to the centralization process of the Sassanid administration, the Hellenes were considered more and more alien, and this was probably a Sassanid policy in competition with Rome.
After Europe's renaissance and standing on its own feet, this Christian pole invented and made up a separate and Hellenic foundation as the oldest part of this continent in the void of Islamized Iran. A policy that was followed seriously after the First World War.
