KEEPING THE PEACE FOR ALL

If all the countries of the world agree to disband their armies in due course and by a proper date, and instead build a whole international army under the auspices of the United Nations with bases in the strategic areas of the world for possible terrestrial and perhaps extraterrestrial military needs, each country could, depending on its population and possibilities, incur personnel and capital to build this army, as well as limited factories to design and produce the limited amount of the weapons it needs.

The costs of this would indeed be only a minimized fraction of the current personnel and expenditures, which now is among the most appreciable costs of each country. The recovery of the capital and the forces resulting from this cooperation can be spent on the welfare of the people and the prosperity of these countries in order to eradicate poverty, hunger, disease and illiteracy, to moderate abnormal inequalities and the vulgaristic populism resulted by these deficiencies.

By ensuring the welfare of the people on earth and the absence of independent armies the peace will become a rooted and enduring reality, the world will eventually become the promised paradise for every living form.

One should not either forget that if there is an unified military force in the world, then the possibility of conflict between different armies is going to reduce to zero. For, after all, there will be no army against the only united international army to fight against.For this goal needs at the same time that the structures of the United Nations become more democratic, more humanistic, more equal, and more fair by for example abolishing the veto right for a few countries.

The Ministries of the Foreign Affairs of all the states of the world should not miss a second to start working on and discussing the implementation of such a progressive step in the human civilization.
